Quick and Easy Ways To Lose 40 Pounds Without Dieting or Exercising

Hi, I’m Jan and I’m 44 years young!

I’d like to share a personal story that I know will resonate with you.

I was recently a fat, frumpy, mini-van driving soccer mom that I swore I would never become.

But I have 2 kids, ages 11 and 7.

And between the two of them, we are involved in 6 team sports.

Which means we do not get home on a daily basis until 7:30pm.

And with tournaments on the weekends to boot!

So, I’m always busy.

And eating healthy and exercising was the last thing on my mind.

Food wise, I’d make whatever was quick to eat or had whatever was convenient delivered.

More often than I like to admit, what we ate came from fast food joints.

Without realizing it, I topped the scale at 241 pounds.

The skinny jeans I had worn a couple of years didn’t fit anymore.

And I found myself wanting to just wear my husband’s too-long-for-me sweatpants and oversized sweatshirts.

The wake-up call I needed…

Just before my 42nd birthday, I developed some serious health problems.

I had high blood pressure and my cholesterol level was sky high.

It wasn’t helping either that I had trouble sleeping for longer than 3 hours at a time.

To boot, my knees hurt whenever I stood for more than 5 minutes and I was showing symptoms of Type 2 diabetes.

I went to see my doctor and she bluntly told me, “If you don’t lose at least 80 pounds, I’m afraid you will not make it past your 60th birthday.”

So I asked her what I should do.

But all she could offer was, “You need to eat less and exercise more.”

With the looming threat of death at an early age, it was the wake-up call I needed.

I told myself that I needed to get it together.

And so I tried everything to lose weight…

I’ve lost count but I must have tried what it seemed like a million ways to lose weight — I:

    • rotated through Paleo, Atkins, Keto, intermittent fasting
    • jogged, did hundreds of crunches and squats till I became nauseous
    • gave up carbs, fat, salt, sugar and finally even food altogether

But each and every time I would stop whatever I was doing for only a few days, the weight would pile back on, and more like my body was getting back at me for trying.

I was about to give up when…

The chance encounter that transformed my life

I was browsing through Quora one night when I stumbled across a post on how to lose weight effectively.

The post was written by John Barban, a fitness trainer and nutrition expert to the celebrities.

What was so interesting about this post was that John wrote about how he had suffered from uncontrollable weight gain after turning 40— even though he was “the one” celebrities went to whenever they had to lose weight and get fit for a role.

But all his knowledge and experience didn’t matter, no matter what he did, he was not able to lose weight.

The biggest revelation from John’s findings was that age and genetics didn’t play a part as to why men and women in their 40s, 50s and even 60s don’t lose weight.

  1. My weight dropped like a rock from 216 lbs to 186 lbs in just 27 days. I no longer had to worry about diabetes, my blood pressure or cholesterol levels or any other obesity related diseases.
  2. I have since lost an additional 40 pounds (67 pounds total)! This was over the course of just 5 months. It was far easier than I expected. I could eat all the foods that I love and I’ve not gained back any of the weight since.
  3. I just had my 44th birthday and, I feel healthy and energetic and look as good as I did in my 20s. My skin and joints have new elasticity and my hair is fuller, thicker and shinier than ever before. People have also started to notice me again…and my self-confidence is at a new high!
  4. My extreme fatigue and stress have also disappeared and my creativity and “zest for life” have come roaring back just in time for our annual family trip. And not to brag, my husband can’t keep his hands off of me now. I truly couldn’t feel happier.

It brings me to tears.

I remember how hopeless and defeated I felt.

I stand here now stronger and happier than I’ve felt in my whole life and that’s the main reason why I’m sitting at my desk writing this letter.
